Quick Methods to Bring Verizon Internet in Working State

Whenever you become unable to connect to the Verizon network, don’t panic. There are several methods to fix internet connectivity issues with your Verizon network. All you have to do is:

Method 01: Check If Other Devices Can Connect

Sometimes the problem can be with your device. It is important to determine whether the problem is with the network or with your device. For this, try to connect other devices to the internet. If you are able to connect to other devices, then that device might be creating problems for you.

On the other hand, if you are still unable to connect your device to internet, then the problem is with the entire network. In such cases, you cannot do anything, just wait till the server-end issue gets resolved.

Method 02: Check for Any Outages

It is important to check and see if Verizon is under maintenance. Mainly the problem arises when the service providers place their servers under system maintenance for updates or regular check-ups. Alternatively, they may be issues that temporarily stop the services. You can easily find such outages from My Verizon app’s device overview page.

Method 03: Determining the Status Colour

The lights blinking in your Verizon router indicates its status, i.e., exactly what’s happening. If your router is blinking red light, that means there is nothing OK with the device. Given below are the indications of the status colors of your router:

  • Solid Green: Your device is properly connected and has a stable internet connection
  • Flashing Green: this indicates that your device is trying to connect to an internet connection
  • Flashing Red: Your device is reinitializing the connection to internet
  • Solid Red: There might be some serious issues with the device or the router
  • No Light: Your router is not getting any power

Method 04: Performing a DNS Flush

Many users claim that refreshing the DNS can also troubleshoot various issues with the router. Follow the below-given steps to know how to perform a DNS flush on your Windows or Mac systems:

Type Command Prompt on search bar of your desktop (Terminal for Mac).

For Windows systems, type following commands:

  • Ipconfig/flushdns
  • Ipconig/release
  • Ipconfig/renew

Mac users need to run following commands:

  • HUP mDNSResponder
  • Enter the admin password of your account
  • Click [RETURN] or [ENTER]

Once you are done with the above steps, your connection will be released. Just wait for a while till the connection re-establishes to the network.

Method 05: Restart the Router

If none of the above methods help you, try to restart or a power cycle of the router. There are many ways by which you can reset your router. The easiest way to reset your router is by unplugging the power cord from the router for about 15 to 20 seconds, then plug it again. You can also remove the cables connecting your router from the wall outlet.
